Summer '03 Mod List

Ok, so Tranny Swap Summer of 2002 is over and done-with, and The Shuttle is running pretty darn well.  However, I'm not at my goal of having an 11-second street car that anyone could (key word is "could".. not that anyone "will"...) drive without having to learn how to deal with the typical idiosyncratic behavior of a high-performance car.  So, I've ordered-up a new round of modifications that should yield both more power and a lower 1/4 mile time (even with my crap driving skills).  I'll also remedy a couple issues that have cropped up since completing Tranny Swap Summer and returning the car to road-worthy status in Dec 2002.

Issues to Resolve

Mods for Additional Power

  • Upgrade to a larger .82 a/r turbine - this should open-up the top-end a bit more - complete - Oct  10!
Postponded Mods - due to lack of either time or urgency.
  • Install Aquamist System 2S water injection
  • New intake manifold - I have the JUN intake, but the more I think about it, I think I want to fabricate a large plenum side feed manifold with single runners.
  • Along with a new intake, I'll install a larger throttle body - either a single 80 mm or a GM-style unit with dual 60 mm butterflies
  • Walbro 340 fuel pump (Supra TT upgrade) - Since my Supra TT pump seems to be holding it own, I'll hold-off on this expenditure till it's needed.

Mods for, well, Just Because I Can

Mods Open for Debate and Discussion - Along with rewiring the engine compartment and constructing the control box, I'm pre-wiring electrical control infrastructure for the following items should I decided to eventually go this route.
