The Shuttle is well-built and inherently a safe car.  But NHRA rules impose specific requirements for drag cars that run in the 11s.  And, while I don't meet all the NHRA rules quite yet, thankfully, I'm not running in the 11s, yet.  (But as of Sept 2003, that day is drawing near.)

Current safety mods include:

• 6-point roll cage
• Sparco 4-point harnesses (blue)
• Emergency electrical disconnect switch
• Reinforced engine mounts

Mods not yet added:

• new door-bars for the roll cage - the existing door-bars do not fit with the Sparco Torino seats
• I need to provide access to the emergency electrical switch from outside the vehicle
• fire extinguisher
