(aka "The
Shuttle") Suspension Modifications |
Updated: September 25, 2017 |
The Shuttle's suspension is upgraded with the components listed below. Here are the alignment specs in use.
Tein HA Coil-overs
- The spring rates are 10 and 7 kg /mm, or 558 and 392 lb/in, front and
rear, respectively.
Whiteline package: KGT4H
Installation
Installation is quite a snap. Instructions: Remove existing strut/spring assembly; install Teins.
Rear - I installed these while also installing the ST205 brakes.
WARNING!!! Installation of the Whiteline adjustable rear sway-bar onto a GT4 that's equipped with Teins will result in a conflict between the sway-bar and the brake hose mounts on the Teins, which can quickly result in ripping the brake hose mounts from the struts, which is obviously not good. I caught this conflict quickly by noticing the metallic thump-thump during the first drive following installation of both the Teins and sway-bar. As a result, I reinstalled the original sway-bar until which time I could render a solution. So, look closely at the following two photos and you'll notice I've created mounts which reposition the sway-bar linkage, which builds clearance between the strut and sway-bar.
Here's an image of the rear strut adjustment. The view is of the top of the strut tower, just below the rear tweeters.
